This whole thing started at my kitchen table in a tiny apartment in Sydney. I was working full time in marketing, making jewellery on the side for family and friends because I loved it, not because I had some big plan. I did my first market at the end of 2022 not really knowing what to expect, and somewhere in there I found a gap nobody was really filling properly, permanent jewellery that didn't cost a fortune or feel cheap. I leaned into it, and pretty soon my markets were booking out weeks in advance.

In June 2023 I moved home to Newcastle with my partner and started the whole thing again from scratch, running markets on weekends and my actual job during the week. Then one day I drove past an empty shop on Darby Street with no sign out front. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I called around real estate agents until I found who had the lease. I signed it as a sole trader before I'd even set up a company properly, and my partner and I fitted the whole store out ourselves in seven days. We opened just before Christmas 2023 with a line out the door, which still doesn't feel real when I think back on it.

Not long after that I quit my corporate job for good. I hired my first team member a few months in, and somewhere in the middle of all that growth I had my daughter too, so I was figuring out how to run a store and be a new mum at the same time, neither one waiting for the other to slow down.

We've grown a lot since then. Engraving, workshops, a second studio, a team of six who genuinely feel like family at this point. But honestly, the bit that still gets me is this, every single piece still gets made with the same care as that very first one I made at my kitchen table. That part hasn't changed and it never will.
