The Consultation
Once you arrive, your permanent jewellery artist will lay out a range of chains for you to see and feel in person. This is where the fun really begins. You'll choose between 14k gold filled, 925 sterling silver, or a mixed metal look, depending on what suits your style and the rest of your jewellery collection. The permanent jewellery artist will lay them on your wrist or ankle so you can see what chain, or chains, you like the most. Every chain is made from high quality materials that won't fade or tarnish, and each piece is fully waterproof, so you can shower, swim, and go about daily life without a second thought. Getting the Perfect Fit
Before anything is welded, your artist will measure your wrist (or ankle, or neck) and complete a temporary try-on. This is your chance to see the chain sitting exactly where it will be worn, adjust the length if needed, and make sure you're completely happy before we move ahead. Take your time, consult your friend, and think about how the piece feels to you.
The Welding Process
At Hey Tilly, we use a state of the art Orion Sunstone welder with argon gas, which is essential for a clean, professional weld. This process leaves no dents or visible marks at the weld site and keeps the chain strong rather than fragile. A screen shields you from the welder's flash, and a leather pad protects your skin as an extra precaution, though the welder itself only ever touches metal to metal, so the process is completely safe.
Quality Testing and Polishing
Once your piece is welded, your artist will polish the weld site and test the chain to make sure it's secure. This quality check is part of every appointment, so you can leave knowing your piece is built to last. You'll even take home your own polishing cloth to keep your new piece looking just as good as the day you got it.
